The choice between open, laparoscopic or robotic surgery is made for each patient individually, on medical grounds. I explain it at the consultation, with the advantages and limits of each option.
Diagnosis, staging and surgical treatment of cancers of the urinary tract and male genital organs, with decisions discussed by the multidisciplinary team.
Procedures through small incisions, with magnified vision and articulated instruments, usually allowing a faster recovery. Trained as a robotic console surgeon, Intuitive certified.
Treatment through the natural passages, with flexible, digital and laser instruments, for benign prostate enlargement, bladder tumours and stones.
Kidney transplantation from living or deceased donors, in adults and children, and renal autotransplantation when the kidney cannot be saved any other way.
The Clinical Institute of Urology and Renal Transplantation in Cluj-Napoca has performed more than 2,500 kidney transplants, about 100 a year. I contributed to developing the institute's kidney and pancreas transplant programme.
Procedures performed for the first time in Romania. Renal autotransplantation with laparoscopic kidney retrieval, and ex-vivo oncological surgery with autotransplantation in a patient with a complex tumour in a solitary kidney.
kidney transplants as lead surgeon, from brain-dead and living donors
paediatric kidney transplants as lead surgeon, in children aged 2.5 to 18
organ retrievals, first as assistant, then as coordinator of the retrieval team
laparoscopic transperitoneal living-donor nephrectomy, introduced at ICUTR

For complex oncological cases, tumours in a solitary kidney or transplant assessment, you can refer the patient directly, with the available tests. We reply to the referring physician.
Use the appointment form and say in the message that you are referring a patient and how we can reach you.

It depends on the disease, its stage and each patient's history. Robotic surgery offers magnified vision and more precise instruments, but it is not the right option for everyone. At the consultation I explain why I recommend a particular type of procedure.
Yes. Bring the diagnosis, the tests and the proposed treatment plan. We discuss the options and I tell you what I recommend and why.
